1

Manage growth responsibly,
don’t let growth manage us.

I believe growth should be well planned and reflect the needs and character of our community. I will continue to support development that respects our Official Plan and ensures our roads, water, wastewater, recreation, and other essential services keep pace with growth. Responsible planning means making sure our infrastructure is ready to support the community, both today and in the years ahead.

Growth should strengthen North Grenville- not overwhelm it.

2

Protect our water, preserve our land, and care for our environment.

Our water, agricultural land, and natural areas are vital to North Grenville’s future and the well-being of our community. I will continue to advocate for evidence-based environmental reviews, the protection of municipal and private wells, responsible groundwater management, and meaningful measures to reduce environmental impacts when major developments or resource projects are proposed.

During this term of Council, North Grenville was recognized as a Blue Community, reflecting a commitment to protecting water as a shared and essential resource. I am proud to serve as Council’s Regional Representative on the South Nation Conservation Authority, where I contribute to protecting our natural environment and water resources.

Protecting our land and water today helps ensure a healthy, sustainable community for future generations.

Responsible Development starts with protecting what we cannot replace.

3

Build the Infrastructure North Grenville needs

Invest Wisely in Infrastructure

Roads, water, wastewater, drainage, and transportation are essential to a growing North Grenville. These are core municipal responsibilities that require careful planning, ongoing maintenance, and responsible investment.

I will continue to focus on maintaining and improving our existing infrastructure, planning for future needs, and ensuring our roads and transportation systems support safe, practical movement throughout our community. We must take a long-term approach to asset management rather than putting off maintenance and allowing costs to grow.

Major infrastructure investments must be carefully planned, financially sustainable, and aligned with our community’s needs and growth.

Build what we need. Maintain what we have. Plan responsibly for the future.

4

Support local businesses
and grow our economy

A strong local economy creates jobs, supports families, and helps North Grenville thrive. I will continue to work with local businesses, entrepreneurs, community organizations, and economic development partners to strengthen Downtown Kemptville, support our hamlets and rural communities, and attract new investment and employment opportunities that fit our community.

I will continue to encourage collaboration with local and county tourism partners, the Chamber of Commerce, the BIA, Community Futures, and other community organizations to support local businesses and build a stronger economy.

My priorities include:

  • Support local business and revitalize Downtown Kemptville.
  • Strengthen our hamlets and rural communities by recognizing their needs and opportunities.
  • Attract investment and jobs that fit North Grenville and broaden our municipal tax base.
  • Promote tourism and community events that bring visitors to our area and bring residents together.
  • Champion the Kemptville Campus and its potential for innovation, education, and economic opportunity.
  • Celebrate arts, culture, and heritage as important parts of our community’s identity.
  • Build strong partnerships with community groups and organizations to turn local ideas into action.

By working together, we can create more opportunities for local businesses, support jobs close to home, and build a vibrant community where people want to live, work, and invest.

Let’s build a stronger local economy and make North Grenville a great place to live, work, and do business.

5

Plan for safer, better transportation

As North Grenville grows, we need transportation planning that keeps people moving safely and efficiently. I will continue to advocate for long-term planning through the Mobility Master Plan, safer roads and intersections, and practical improvements that reflect the real needs of our community.

My priorities include:

  • Safer roads and intersections for drivers and all road users.
  • Better options for pedestrians and cyclists, with thoughtful consideration for active transportation and other ways of getting around.
  • Responsible truck traffic management and careful assessment of the transportation impacts of new developments.
  • Stronger coordination with the United Counties on roads under County jurisdiction, including through the Mayor’s seat on County Council.
  • Practical, evidence-based improvements guided by actual traffic patterns, safety concerns, and residents’ experiences.

Transportation planning must be about more than lines on a map. I will continue to ask the important questions and advocate for solutions that work for the people who live, work, and travel in North Grenville.

Safer roads. Smarter planning. Transportation that works for our community.

6

Protect Taxpayers and Demand Accountability

Respect the Taxpayer

North Grenville needs significant investment in infrastructure, making responsible financial management more important than ever. Residents and businesses deserve transparency, accountability, and careful use of their tax dollars.

I will continue to ask the important questions before major Council decisions:

  • What will it cost?
  • What will it cost to operate and maintain over the long term?
  • Can we afford it?
  • Who benefits?
  • Is there a better, more cost-effective way to do it?

Major projects must be evaluated not just on their initial price tag, but on their long-term financial impact. Our goal should be to deliver reliable municipal services, plan responsibly for the future, and respect the financial realities facing residents and local businesses.

Spend wisely. Plan responsibly. Respect every taxpayer dollar.

7

A strong voice for residents

Open, Accessible and Accountable Leadership

I believe good local government starts with listening. I make myself available through conversations, meetings, phone calls, community organizations, local events, and the public places I frequent.

I will continue to encourage meaningful public consultation, make complex municipal issues easier to understand, and seek the information needed before making decisions. I will listen to residents, even when we disagree, and encourage respectful, face-to-face conversations rather than social media conflict—a lesson I learned early in my term on Council.

I will also do my best to explain the reasoning behind important Council decisions so residents understand how and why decisions are made.

Good local government means listening, being accessible, and making sure residents have a voice.

8

Support Community Life

Building a Stronger, More Connected Community

A successful community is about more than roads and buildings. It’s about creating opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to participate, connect, and feel a sense of belonging.

I will continue to support:

  • Recreation and active living for all ages. In 2026, public input is being sought to update North Grenville’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan. Your feedback will help identify our community’s future needs.
  • Arts and culture through initiatives such as the Arts and Culture Development Fund.
  • Equity, diversity, and inclusion through funding that helps build a more inclusive community.
  • Heritage preservation by protecting our historical assets and local identity.
  • Community grants that help local groups deliver valuable programs and services.

Our volunteers and community organizations make an enormous contribution to North Grenville. I believe the municipality should continue to be a supportive partner, helping these groups make a meaningful difference wherever it can.

Strong communities are built when people come together, get involved, and have the support to make a difference.

Prepared for the Decisions Ahead

North Grenville’s continued growth brings important decisions and challenges. The next Council will need to manage growth, invest in aging and new infrastructure, protect our water and agricultural land, strengthen our local economy, and make difficult financial decisions while keeping taxes affordable.

These decisions require preparation, careful consideration, and a focus on the long-term needs of our community.

I will continue to:

  • Be prepared and understand the issues before making decisions.
  • Ask the difficult questions and seek clear answers.
  • Listen to residents and consider their concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with Council and municipal staff.
  • Base decisions on evidence, sound planning, and responsible financial management.
  • Keep North Grenville’s long-term interests at the centre of every discussion.

Thoughtful decisions today.

A stronger North Grenville tomorrow.
